Job description

The Education and Student Affairs service (ESA) is the central service point for teaching staff, students, and prospective students at Eindhoven University of Technology and provides a range of services relating to educational support, educational logistics, study skills, career & personal guidance, use of IT resources in education, professional skills and language teaching.


The Student Facilities department falls under ESA and consists of four teams: Student Coaching, Counseling & Information (SCC&I), TU/e Language Center (TLC), Career & Professional Skills (C&PS) and the Planning & Support Center. Due to the departure of the current teammanager, the C&PS team has a vacancy.


The team

The Career & Professional Skills team focuses on coordination and project management, bringing together various parties involved in student job orientation, working on the relationship with study and career organizations and embedding professional skills in the curriculum. Also teaching and coaching activities relating to skills is an important task of this team. Important themes for the next coming years is implementing the Employability vision, redesign of the Bachelor College and translating the 2030 TU/e educational vision into professional development for students. The team comprises skills teachers/career advisers and a pool of freelancers. There are also student assistants who work for the team. 


As the team manager, you manage the team of staff members, student assistants and freelancers. You contribute towards implementing the vision on Employability/redesign of the Bachelor College and are able to translate this into a Divisional Plan (HR, road map and finance) and an implementation plan. You write the project proposals for activities, draw up the budgets and act as the project/subproject leader or member of the steering group. You work with diverse stakeholders such as students, lecturers, deans, directors of service departments and programs, policy officers and representatives of the business community.


Job requirements
  • a university (master)degree
  • experience as a teammanager/teamlead, which includes the supervision of projects
  • Experience within the educational field is an advantage
  • knowledge of and experience in the area of Employability (career, skills & coaching, job market orientation) is a requirement
  • you are able to translate strategy and vision into department goals and activities
  • you have a well-developed people focus: you consider each individual person, create a safe and enjoyable working environment, are empathetic and allow others space
  • you make cross-connections and generate support
  • you are sensitive to the needs of the organization, are alert to political and administrative relations, are relationship-oriented and build a network
  • you have excellent oral and written communication skills in both Dutch and English (C1)

Conditions of employment

We offer a 0.8 FTE appointment. Depending on the position, age and experience, the salary amounts to a minimum of € 3807,- gross per month and a maximum of € 5211,- gross per month (scale 11) in case of a full-time appointment.

We first offer a temporary appointment for the duration of one year. In case of good performance and equal financial circumstances, the employment contract will become permanent.

We also offer good fringe benefits, including an 8.3% year-end bonus, 8% holiday allowance and excellent sports facilities.

Depending on CV and work experience, an appointment via EUFLEX (secondment agency of the TU/e) is possible.
