Team Manager Digital Competence Centre (DCC)

As team manager, you coordinate and support the team of data stewards and other members in the DCC by chairing DCC meetings, further developing the Research Data Management educational curriculum at the university, identifying opportunities for internal and external collaboration, and developing RDM guidelines for the faculties and the UT. You oversee the implementation of initiatives defined in the DCC action plan and actively seek new opportunities for internal and external collaboration, such as attending national meetings of local DCC coordinators, and communicating with managers of the newly launched Thematic Digital Competence Centres (www.tdcc.nl) by NWO. You will be involved in further defining and extending the DCC network of expertise concerning FAIR data, digitalization of science, and Open Science. A close collaboration has been established with the TDCC's, which provide the opportunity to participate in projects with external organizations on topics that are relevant for all DCC's and organizations such as development of software management plans and guidelines.

The UT-DCC actively collaborates with researchers and staff to provide innovative (ICT-)services and tools. Our team of data stewards is appointed within the faculties but is also Involved in central services and developments. As team manager, you collaborate and communicate with faculty research support coordinators on a regular basis to align faculty and DCC-central tasks of the data steward team and to identify needs and opportunities. You translate ideas into concrete projects and activities and coordinate their implementation.

The UT-DCC actively collaborates with researchers and organizations within its network such as the Open Science Community Twente, SURF, and 4TU.ResearchData. As team manager, you will support the DCC steering group in maintaining and expanding these contacts. You will oversee communication channels supported by the DCC communication specialist, such as website and social media, and ensure the activities of the DCC are up to par with university and national developments in the fields of RDM and Open Science.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying common needs and wants and coordinating the team of data stewards in initiatives and services to support Open Science, especially FAIR data and Open Access, Research Data Management (RDM), ICT-facilities and services for research, as well as digitalization of science;
  • Coordinating the further implementation of FAIR data principles at the University of Twente at the policy and guideline level;
  • Supporting and developing the DCC network across faculties and services at the UT, as well as with external partners, in collaboration with the DCC communication specialist;
  • Representing the DCC in local and national (Thematic) DCC meetings as well as international networks for sharing best practices and knowledge exchange on / initiation of joint initiatives;
