Are you interested in educational policy? Do you want to give students a voice and gain some insight in educational policy and processes? Then we might be looking for you as the new student assessor of Economics and Business (EB) of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) .

The role of the student assessor is to act as a link between the Educational Directors and the student population. He/she has an advisory role and provides feedback with regard to education-related policy development. The student assessor has an independent role.

What are you going to do?

  • Effectively presenting the students’ perspective in the discussion and formulation of educational policy at UvA EB;
  • participating in the monthly meetings of the Dean with the Educational Directors of the BSc and MSc programmes and the director of the Institute of Executive Programmes;
  • maintaining contact with the Faculty Student Council, the study associations and the Programme Committees to keep informed about what is going on among students;
  • you might be asked to take part in in education-related working groups;
  • participating in the network of UvA student assessors.

What do we require?

The student assessor we are looking for:

  • Is a student that is enrolled in one of UvA EB’s BSc programmes (preferably in the third year) or in one of UvA EB’s regular MSc programmes;
  • is someone who takes initiative and is proactive, with good communication and social skills;
  • has a demonstrable interest in education-related matters;
  • has a good social network within UvA EB or is able to build an effective network as needed;
  • has a good command of both Dutch and English

Our offer

The contract is via StudiJob from 1 September 2023 until 1 September 2024 for 8 hours per week in the week that you work. An extension of the contract is possible if you are still student.

The gross monthly salary based on full-time employment (38 hours per week) ranges from €2,402 up to a maximum of €2,611 (salary scale student-assistant). This is exclusive 8% holiday allowance. The starting salary will be based on number of ECTS gained as a student.
