Description

Social Media Coordination Officer in the Digital Media Production Office, Production and Management Support Division, Communication Department, Director General’s Services.


Duties

Under the direct authority of the Head of the Digital Media Production Office, you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing ESA’s social media strategy for the Agency’s Communication activities, including its flagship accounts.


Your duties will include:

  • ensuring a coherent publishing approach across ESA’s flagship social media accounts in line with the Communication Department’s editorial planning;
  • planning and coordinating social media campaigns with the relevant Communication Department offices, and elsewhere in the Agency, along with external partners such as Member States, industry and any relevant governmental agencies and organisations;
  • developing and consolidating the implementation of the social media influencer programme to spread ESA’s brand and messaging with the objective of fostering a collaborative and engaged social media network;
  • supporting the online presence of ESA’s Director General as the Agency’s social media spokesperson to strengthen the DG’s positioning as the face of ESA;
  • managing the development and implementation of social media guidelines throughout the Agency;
  • carrying out monthly social media reporting for the Agency’s flagship social media channels;
  • acting in direct coordination with the Head of Office to manage contracts falling under your responsibility.

In addition, you will:

  • ensure the Agency’s brand is applied correctly across ESA’s social media channels in liaison with the ESA Branding and Partnerships Office;
  • ensure ESA’s privacy policy is correctly implemented on its social media channels in liaison with the ESA Legal Services Department.

Education

Applicants should have a master’s degree in marketing, communication, international relations, or a related discipline.


Additional requirements

Proven communication and writing skills, a demonstrated aptitude for planning and organisation, a talent for relationship management and problem-solving, a result-oriented mindset, experience of acting as a direct interface with top-level management and leadership of an international organisation, and demonstrated competence in digital marketing and social media campaigns.


Good knowledge of ESA, its programmes and the Communication Department’s mandate and role is required.

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.

Recruitment will normally be at the first grade in the band (A2); however, if the candidate selected has little or no experience, the position may be filled at A1 level.
