As a Research Engineer you will be responsible for the design, operation and maintenance of one or more of our (vacuum) thin film deposition and analysis setups.
The TechEngine team is a group of 5 technicians that is the engine of the XUV Optic Group. They work every day with the complex deposition and measurement setups in the lab, and they support students, PhDs, but also post-docs and professors in physics research projects.
It is our mission to form an approachable and reliable team that provides hands-on support for thin film research for and with industrial partners such as ASML, Zeiss, Panalytical and VDL. As a Research Engineer you will be responsible for the design, operation and maintenance of one or more of our (vacuum) thin film deposition and analysis setups. These deposition setups include physical vapor techniques such as pulsed laser deposition and magnetron sputtering but also chemical deposition techniques such as dip-coating or spray-coating deposition. With these systems you will participate in research projects for the semiconductor industry and you will perform a diverse palette of experiments, from thin film deposition, to measuring material properties at the atomic level. In addition, you will help to analyse measurements of samples made and report the analysis within the relevant research project. You are also responsible for contacts with suppliers, and you participate in project discussions with our customers.
