Programme officer

Do you like to plan, organize, coordinate, network and just tackle any problem that comes your way? Then join us, support our Una programme team and make your contribution to the European university of the future!

What are you going to do?
Leiden University is a leading institute for research and education, with a strong international orientation. We are therefore a proud member of Una Europa, an alliance of 11 European research universities working together for the establishment of a European campus. As our programme officer, you support the Leiden programme team for Una Europa. Your goal: to make the programme run smoothly. You plan meetings and don't shy away from tough agendas. You take minutes and coordinate the follow-up of action items, from daily activities to new initiatives. Thanks to you, our data and information are up-to-date and retrievable, from mailboxes to databases. You assist with making reports, co-operate with the communication officer and support the other colleagues within the Una Europa team in Leiden. Finally, you will work on building and expanding networks and help the leads at events. You are the point of contact for questions about Una Europa. An attractive role at the centre of a complex European project!

Who and what are you?
To start with, you bring excellent organizational and planning skills that help you to work accurately and result-oriented, even under pressure or with tight deadlines. In an environment where bureaucracy (sometimes) and creative thinking (often) alternate, you show that you are proactive, take initiative and can solve problems independently. You are flexible and have a smooth pen. Your natural (inter)personal skills are of great value in building and maintaining relationships at home and abroad.

In any case, you bring with you:

  • a completed education at a bachelor level;
  • at least 3 years of experience with (administrative work within) projects, including the use of data and information systems;
  • affinity or experience with a academic environment;
  • excellent command of English and Dutch;
  • a European nationality (or you hold a valid work permit).

What do you get from us?
A responsible position, in which all your skills are called upon and with plenty of room for your initiative and useful ideas. We offer you the opportunity to make your own contribution to this exciting and important project. The international focus of the program is interesting: it provides you with unique contacts and many new experiences.

What you also get:

  • a salary range from € 3.226 to € 5.090 gross per month for a full-time appointment (scale 10);
  • an appointment for one year with the possibility of renewal;
  • an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% and a holiday allowance of 8%;
  • a choice model with which you can tailor your other employment conditions to your needs;
  • excellent training facilities;
  • A good work/life balance, including a flexible working time, our own nursery, paid parental leave and opportunities for sabbatical leave.

More about your new department
