Axelera.ai is a dynamic semiconductor startup company in Europe, committed to democratizing access to AI acceleration through multi-core in-memory compute SoCs. We are seeking an experienced Processor Verification Engineer to join our Silicon team, who will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of our RISC-V based AI processor cores.

Position Overview
As a Processor Verification Engineer at Axelera.ai, you will own the verification of RISC-V based AI Processor Core and its sub-components Your role will be critical in achieving the highest level of quality and performance in our products. This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and a dedicated team of professionals who share your passion for pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

Location
We offer a flexible working arrangement, with the option to relocate near an Axelera AI office (currently in Eindhoven/NL, Bristol/UK, Florence or Milan/IT) or work remotely from any European country.

Role responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute verification plans for Processor units, ensuring all requirements and specifications are met.
  • Design and implement constrained random testbenches for processor core.
  • Collaborate with architecture, RTL design, and compiler teams to ensure thorough verification coverage.
  • Perform functional, performance, and stress testing on processor units.
  • Develop and maintain test scripts and automation tools.
  • Identify and debug issues, providing detailed documentation and reports.
  • Drive the development and maintenance of processor verification methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure verification milestones are achieved.

Desirable Experience and Skills

  • Education: A degree in electronics engineering, electrical engineering or computer science.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in silicon verification, with a strong focus on processor verification especially using instruction set simulators.
  • Verification Expertise: Proficiency in systemVerilog and C/C++ or Python for designing and implementing testbenches, and test cases for processor verification. Understanding of verification flow for creating verification plansand coverage metric.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work closely with processor architecture, RTL design, and compiler teams to ensure comprehensive verification coverage.
  • Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Rust or Tcl for automation.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working with team spread across 15 countries.
  • Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
