Are you interested in the intersection of language and cognitive functioning? As a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Donders Centre for Cognition, you have the chance to investigate the relationship between the domains of memory and language. In a vibrant community of experts, you can make a meaningful scientific contribution in the field of cognitive neuroscience, electrophysiology, and language research.

As a member of the Language Function and Dysfunction group at the Donders Centre for Cognition, you will help develop a conceptual and analytical framework to study interactions between the domains of memory and language under the supervision of Dr Vitória Piai. You will develop experiments and analysis pipelines for FieldTrip or MNE-Python (or similar code-based toolboxes). You will also analyse data, write papers, and present your work at scientific meetings. There is budget allocated for assistance with data collection. You will also be expected to help supervise Master's students and PhD candidates, being involved in the conceptual as well as analytical aspects of their work. You will have access to all experimental facilities at the Donders Institute, which is also the home of the FieldTrip toolbox, so there is plenty of opportunity for real-life interaction with the FieldTrip team and the main developers.


Profile
  • You hold a PhD degree in a relevant field, such as neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, biomedical engineering, neurolinguistics or neuropsychology.
  • You have demonstrable experience with research using electrophysiology, both in the time domain and in the frequency domain and at the scalp and source levels.
  • You have an interest in memory research or language research.
  • You are proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Experience with student supervision is desirable, but not mandatory.

We offer
  • Employment for 0.8 - 1.0 FTE.
  • The gross monthly salary amounts to a minimum of €3,821 and a maximum of €5,230 based on a 38-hour working week, depending on previous education and number of years of relevant work experience (salary scale 11 ).
  • You will receive 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
  • It concerns a temporary employment for 3 years (1.0 FTE) or 4 years (0.8 FTE).
  • You will be part of the Donders Graduate School for Cognitive Neuroscience.
