Join our pioneering neuroscience team in an exciting postdoctoral position, where you'll contribute to creating the first functional atlas of the neurobiology of language. Utilising cutting-edge MRI structural and functional data and advanced analytical methods, you will be instrumental in mapping the intricate interplay between white and grey matter in language processing, leveraging the comprehensive Language in Interaction dataset from the Donders Institute and the Bill&Gin dataset from the University of Bordeaux.
As a vital member of our research team, your role will involve deeply engaging with structural and functional MRI data to unravel the complexities of language neurobiology. You will be responsible for applying advanced analytical methods to dissect the contributions of functional white and grey matter areas. This ambitious project aims to synthesise these insights into the first-ever functional atlas of the neurobiology of language, using two large databases available to the community. Your work will involve data analysis and active collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of experts, contributing to the analysis and interpretation of complex brain data. You will be expected to present your findings in academic journals and conferences, contributing to the broader scientific discourse. Furthermore, your role will include engaging with the Language in Interaction and the Bill&Gin dataset, both rich and comprehensive resources that will form the backbone of your research. This position will require technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and a deep commitment to advancing our understanding of the human brain and language.
Profile
  • You have a PhD in Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Psychology, or a related field.
  • You have proven experience with MRI data analysis, particularly structural and functional MRI.
  • You have a strong background in advanced statistical methods and data analysis techniques.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • You have a deep interest in the neurobiology of language and a commitment to contributing to groundbreaking research in the field.
  • You are able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Experience with large datasets, ideally in the context of language research, is a plus.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in neuroimaging (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R) is a plus.
