We are looking for

The chair group Business Management & Organisation (BMO), being part of Wageningen University, is distinguished by its commitment to improving the human condition through advanced science and technology

The BMO group studies innovation and entrepreneurship in chains and networks, focusing on the agri-food industry in particular. In a globalising world, where firms face major challenges related to, a.o., global warming, urbanisation and food security, we provide the knowledge and insights needed to internally organise and govern firms appropriately and for firms to effectively collaborate in chains and networks.

We are looking for a post-doctoral researcher to help develop and lead a one-year research effort focusing on technology adoption and business modelling.
Specifically, the post-doctoral scholar will conduct research on the following question: What strategies help SMEs to have a successful  technology adoption towards sustainability impact and thriving organizational culture? This may include advocating for new business models, policies, or practices.

You will work under the mentorship of notable faculty members affiliated with both the WUR departments:
•    Maria Carmela Annosi , Assistant Professor of Innovation Management and Organizational Behavior
•    Geoffrey Hagelaar , Assistant Professor of Management and Organizations

We invite you to apply for this job when you are a self-steering social scientist, interested in exploring strategic management, organisation, and entrepreneurship literature in a study of collaborative BMs. You are a team player in an international, interdisciplinary project to advance healthier diets and competitive micro and SMEs.
You should have the following qualifications:
A PhD degree in organizational studies, business administration or a related subject area.

You are at the beginning of your academic careers, having received your PhD or comparable degree between September 1, 2018 and March 31, 2019.

Individuals holding current academic positions at a rank above post-doctoral fellow are not eligible to apply.

Fellowships are open to U.S. and non-U.S. citizens providing they are eligible for an academic visa in the United States.

We offer

We wish to attract scientific talent and to stimulate and support their development. 

•    We initially offer a fixed-term, 1 year contract for 0,8 fte per week.
•    The yearly salary before taxes ranges between € 2709 to € 4978 in case of fulltime employment, depending on experience and expertise.
•    Excellent training opportunities and secondary working conditions, including, for instance, a cycle-to-work plan;
•    Flexible working hours and vacations to allow for more optima work-life balance (consult with colleagues and line-manager);
•    An excellent pension scheme via ABP (;
•    232 holiday hours annually for a fulltime (1,0 fte) employment, possibly to be supplemented by voluntarily reducing one’s salary or by the flexible working week;

The Business Management & Organisation-group (BMO) is a major chair group in the Social Sciences Group of Wageningen University. Central in the BMO-research program is the quest for understanding and managing the rapidly developing chains and networks, with a special focus on innovation, governance and sustainability in food provision.
