The Student Wellbeing Programme of Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) is looking for a Post-doctoral Researcher to launch and coordinate a new line of research on Student Wellbeing and Personal and Professional Development.
Job description
The EUR Student Wellbeing Programme is a pioneer in how to support university students throughout their journey at university, focussing on student success and personal development alongside professional and educational development. One of the pillars of the Student Wellbeing programme involves the adoption of an evidence-based approach to the implementation of its mission, by translating scientific insights into concrete actions and initiatives and systematically collecting data to evaluate their impact. The Post-doctoral Researcher will take a leading role in setting up and coordinating the research activities within the programme and disseminate the results to the scientific and professional community.
As a Post-Doctoral Researcher within our Student Wellbeing Program, you will play a key role in leveraging existing data, including the Student Wellbeing Monitor and outcomes from various project lines, to contribute to evidence-based strategies for fostering the wellbeing and personal development of our diverse student body and youth in general. This position also involves the possibility of exploring new research venues to increase the knowledge base in youth wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
Research Development & Coordination:
    • Establish and coordinate a research line in student and youth wellbeing, in collaboration with the SW team members and aligned with the programme goals.
    • Utilise and expand upon existing data and resources within the EUR Student Wellbeing Programme.
    • Serve as a liaison between researchers across different EUR faculties and beyond interested in collaborating on student wellbeing research initiatives

Data Analysis & Results Dissemination:
    • Conduct (advanced) statistical analyses of existing and new data to draw meaningful insights and contribute to both scientific knowledge and the further development of the programme goals.
    • Disseminate research findings to both the scientific community and the general public.
    • Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration by fostering communication and information exchange among researchers.

Requirements
What we expect from you:
    • A completed PhD in health/behavioural/social sciences;
    • Expertise in youth well-being and/or youth development;
    • Scientific creativity and productivity, as shown by recent peer-reviewed publications and other relevant scientific output;
    • Demonstrated expertise in quantitative (and preferably also qualitative) data analysis and the utilisation of large datasets.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work in a team and collaborate with researchers across diverse faculties.
    • Strong organizational and project managing skills and able to work independently;
    • Excellent English speaking and academic writing skills.
    • Willingness to engage in valorisation activities to share the insights derived from our research with society to contribute to youth’s wellbeing

Conditions of employment
We offer you an internationally oriented and varied job in an enthusiastic team, with excellent working conditions in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU).
Starting date is as soon as possible in February 2024. This position is for 0.8 fte - 0.8 fte FTE. The salary is dependent on your experience and knowledge and ranges from a minimum of € 4.332 to a maximum of € 5.929 gross per month Scale 11 on a fulltime basis (38 hours), in accordance with the CAO-NU. The contract is entered into for the duration of 10 to 12 months and can be converted into a permanent contract if performance is good and the organizational circumstances remain unchanged.

The General Management Directorate
The General Management Directorate (Algemene Bestuursdienst, ABD) is the central staff organisation responsible for the organisation and support of EUR’s policy and administration at the institutional level. ABD supports the Executive Board in fulfilling its responsibilities with regard to the quality, accessibility and financing of EUR’s education and research programmes. ABD handles the joint design of integrated policy, ensures the timely submission of policy within decision-making procedures and the implementation of the adopted policy measures and constantly monitors and evaluates developments in the interest of further improvement.
