Job description
Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is seeking a bright pos-doc in the area of mammalian synthetic biology. We are looking for a candidate interested in applying synthetic biological techniques to mammalian cells with the goal of developing synthetic receptor technologies that can be applied in diagnostics or cell therapy.1 The approach is positioned at the interface of cell biology, chemical biology and synthetic biology. We are looking for an experimental scientist with an affinity for cellular engineering of mammalian cells.
Job requirements

- A PhD degree in Synthetic Biology, Cell Biology or Molecular Biology.
- A good background in engineering gene circuits, cloning and culturing of mammalian cells.
- A good background in analysis of experimental data using Matlab or Python.
- Excellent communication skills and written/verbal knowledge of the English language.
- Several publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- A team player that enjoys working in multidisciplinary teams.
The position will be based at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in the Netherlands. The research will be performed within the Synthetic Biology group in the Department of Biomedical Engineering under the supervision of prof. dr. Tom de Greef. Our group is interested in developing emergent technologies based on biology and biological principles such as biological computing devices, DNA-based digital data storage, engineered living materials, engineered cells, and digital chemistry.

- Full-time employment for initially 1 year with the possibility for a 1-year extension. The start date is 01-01-2025.

- A year-end bonus of 8.3% and annual vacation pay of 8%.
