Post-doctoral researcher in European and/or comparative administrative law (1,0 fte)

We are looking for a post-doctoral researcher with expertise and interest in European and/or comparative administrative law. Having recently completed their PhD, they will carry out independent and original research in European and/or comparative administrative law, will become a member of the Department of Public Law and will work closely together with Professor Mariolina Eliantonio. Depending on the specific research interest and focus, they will also become member of the Globalization and Law Network (GLaw-Net) and/or of the Maastricht Center for European Law (MCEL). In addition, the successful candidates will teach and be involved in the development of the courses taught by the Department of Public Law, in the Bachelor Programme European Law School or in the Bachelor and Master of Dutch Law as well as possibly a number of skills courses taught within the same programmes.

Maastricht University (UM)

Candidates must:

• hold a PhD in law, with a focus in European and/or comparative administrative law.  
• give evidence of sustained research achievements, reflected in peer-reviewed publications.
• have a strong background and proven interest in a field of European and/or comparative administrative law. Preference will be given to candidates with a research interest and focus on the administrative governance of the EU and on one or more of the following research lines: 1) EU soft law; 2) standardization at the EU and global level; 3) effective judicial protection and access to justice in the EU multi-level legal order; 4) multi-level administrative cooperation in the EU.
• have a strong command of English.
• have excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills.
• have excellent organizational skills.

Knowledge of Dutch will be considered an advantage in the selection procedure.

Fixed-term contract: two years.

As Post-doctoral researcher you are employed as researcher  level 4. You get a two-year contract for 38 hours a week (1,00 fte).

We offer a competitive salary between € 2.960,- and € 4.670,- which depends on academic qualifications and experience. On top of this, there is an 8% holiday and an 8.3% year-end allowance.
