Job description

The group of Prof. Ranjita K. Bose has an open position for a 5-month postdoctoral researcher. The primary goal of the selected postdoc will be to support the research in the Bose group on functional polymers. Familiarity and experience with one or more of the following topics is ideal:

  • solvent-free synthesis of polymer thin films and coatings
  • polymer foaming using supercritical CO2
  • self-healing, thermoreversible and recyclable polymer networks
  • polymer structure-property-processing relationships.

Qualifications

Applicants must have obtained a Ph.D. in polymer chemistry, polymer engineering, materials/chemical engineering or a related field. The candidate should have:

  • a creative, open and resilient mind,
  • a resourceful attitude and problem-solving approach,
  • good English skills,
  • excellent interpersonal skills combined with an ability to work efficiently both independently and in a team, and
  • leadership skills to support other PhD and MSc reseaerchers in the group.

Conditions of employment

We offer you in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities:

  • a salary from a minimum of € 3,557 gross per month up to a maximum of € 4,670 gross per month (salary scale 10) based on a full-time position and dependent on qualifications and work experience
  • a position limited to a period of 5 months
  • a full-time position (1.0 FTE)
  • a holiday allowande of 8% gross annual income
  • an 8.3% year-end bonus and participation in a pension schema for employees.

The preferred starting date is as soon as possible after 1 December 2022.
