Location: AMSTERDAM
FTE: 0.8 - 1
Job description
As postdoc at Athena your work will consist of a combination of research, project and teaching activities, that will strengthen your skill set, expand your academic expertise and build your academic portfolio.
For this specific function, we are looking for a postdoc to work on the newly awarded TRUSTyFOOD project within the Horizon Europe framework. The project aims to contribute to the successful food system transition towards more sustainable and transparent supply chains. Together with partners across Europe (Crotia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, and Portugal) we will clarify the benefits and opportunities that blockchain technology can offer to stakeholders throughout the food chain by understanding why communities accept or reject blockchain-based projects, and by learning from previous projects.
Our role in the project will be to organize and facilitate a proactive dialogue with stakeholders across the supply chain, through a mixed methods approach. Stakeholders include farmers, investors, operators, IT / services providers, agritech companies and startups, and experts in microfinance. In addition, we will be training partners in the project to moderate their own national focus groups in order to learn from regional peculiarities in food system dynamics. And ultimately, we will be contributing to stakeholder consensus building in order to develop a roadmap for further development of blockchain technology within the agri-food system.
You will be part of a team of researchers who together work on this project, including a PhD student with whom you will form the core of the project. We will have weekly project meetings to discuss progress, and in addition you will be embedded in our ongoing academic discussions on transitions, transformations and sustainable agri-food systems. These discussions precipitate in our teaching activities, both as coordinator of Bachelor or Master courses, and as supervisor of MSc internships. In addition, you will have ample opportunity to further develop yourself in writing research proposals, contributing to other interesting projects at our department, engage in knowledge valorisation activities, or expand your teaching skill set.
Due to the variety of project, research and education tasks, we look for a Post Doc researcher with proven experience and further ambition in doing transdisciplinary research, in which alternating roles and knowledge brokering are crucial, as well as reflection before, while and after actions.
