Job description
VentureLab North (VLN) is a startup incubator that supports entrepreneurs in building and growing technology companies in the Northern Netherlands affiliated with the University of Groningen (RUG). VentureLab North offers guidance and support to graduates, scientists, engineers, and professionals in their entrepreneurial journey. Our services turn promising ideas into solid startups and help them grow into successful companies.
VentureLab North is seeking a Head of Marketing to develop and implement strategic marketing plans that drive awareness and engagement with our programs and services. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns, managing social media platforms, and creating content for various channels. They will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to increase brand recognition, develop targeted messaging, and drive lead generation. The Head of Marketing will report to the VLN Manager and will work closely with the program team to ensure marketing efforts are aligned with program goals. Responsibilities:
- develop and execute marketing plans to promote VentureLab North and its programs
- manage and update the organization's website, social media accounts, and newsletters
- develop and execute marketing plans and campaigns to promote the services of VentureLab North
- create engaging content, including social media posts, case studies, and videos.
- collaborate with team members to develop targeted campaigns for specific programs or events
- analyze marketing metrics and adjust strategies accordingly
- plan and execute events and webinars to promote the organization and its programs.
Qualifications
- bachelor's or master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in creating and executing marketing plans, preferably in a startup or technology-focused environment
- excellent written and verbal communication skills. Having the ability to communicate and compose in both English and Dutch is a plus
- experience with digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, and email marketing
- experience in market research and analysis to identify target audiences and develop effective marketing strategies
- ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members
- strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and entrepreneurs
- knowledge of the Northern Netherlands startup ecosystem and familiarity with the University of Groningen is a plus.

Conditions of employment
We offer you in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities:
- depending on experience, a salary of € 3.226,- up to € 5.090,- (salary scale 10) gross per month for a full-time position. The UFO profile for communications officer 1 (communicatiemedewerker) is applicable
- 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% end-of-the-year allowance
- a position of 0.4 FTE for the duration of a year. Within 6 months the possibility of extension is explored, depending on external funding.
Location (1+1): You are required to be present in the office on Fridays, while on another day you can work remotely.
