Job description
The postdoctoral researcher will work on the following projects: Circular X and PROSPERITY. Circular X (www.circularx.eu ) is an ERC funded research project aimed at understanding and accelerating experimentation with circular business models. PROSPERITY (https://www.ri.se/en/what-we-do/projects/product-services-for-promoting-resource-efficiency-and-sustainability ) is a FORMAS funded research project shared between RISE Sweden and Maastricht University, which aims to generate knowledge on the interaction between business models patterns and user practices, and sustainability impacts.

Requirements
The postdoctoral researcher is expected to conduct independent research in close collaboration with the research teams, write collaborative (journal) papers, participate in academic conferences and conduct/ participate in workshops with business and academia in the field of sustainable and circular business. The researcher will also contribute to education (e.g., master thesis supervision, lectures) in the field of Sustainable Business for 20% of their time.
The applicant is expected to hold a PhD in the broad field of Sustainable Business with relevant publications related to the research projects.
Conditions of employment
Fixed-term contract: 2 years.
This is a 0,9 fte position for two years, starting April 2023.
Depending on experience and qualification (scale 10 ). The maximum gross monthly salary is € 3.557 (on a full-time basis) in accordance with scale 10 of the Dutch university collective bargaining agreement. On top of this, there is an 8% holiday and an 8.3% year-end allowance.
In addition to good primary employment conditions, UM also offers an attractive package of secondary employment conditions.

The Maastricht Sustainability Institute (MSI) is part of the School of Business and Economics at Maastricht University, and with its focus on sustainable development in research and education centrally at the interface of science, policy and society. The institute offers the Master programme Sustainability Science, Policy and Society (which attracts a large international, multidisciplinary student population and includes a Sustainable Business specialization). The institute also provides sustainability education at bachelor level. The multidisciplinary staff (ca. 40 persons) has an interdisciplinary working style and transdisciplinary interest for addressing sustainability problems.
The School of Business and Economics (SBE) is one of the youngest Faculties of Business and Economics in the Netherlands. It has a distinctive international profile and is Triple Crown accredited.
