Job description

Lecturers within the department have a wide variety of teaching tasks including tutoring of student groups, grading of exercises and examinations and tutoring in skills trainings for students. Teaching activities are oriented towards the bachelor programs for economics and international business. Given the diversity of teaching activities, applicants with experience in teaching as well as applicants with a practical background as accountant or controller are invited to apply for this position. Typical courses taught include Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Auditing and Corporate Governance.

Requirements

A Master degree in Business Economics, International Business, Economics, Econometrics, Business Administration or equivalent. Applicants that have a specialization in Accounting, Finance, or Information Management are specifically invited. Fluent writing and speaking in English (i.e., language of instruction) as well as adequate computer skills are required. Experience with a Problem Based Learning environment is an advantage. A PhD in Accounting or Information Management is also an advantage.


Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 4 years.

A full time or part time appointment, with a starting date of October 15, 2022.

The length of the appointment is negotiable, with a maximum of 4 years. Your gross annual salary may range from € 35.000 to € 56.000, depending on your qualifications and previous experience.

The Department of Accounting & Information Management is a group of over 25 academics strongly committed to excellence in both research and teaching.

The Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (SBE) provides high-quality education to students and conducts excellent research.
