Job description

The joint departments of Macro, International and Labour Economics (MILE) and Microeconomics and Public Economics (MPE) of the School of Business and Economics at Maastricht University are looking for lecturers in their Economics programs for the period September 2023 – August 2025. Both part-time (minimum of 0.5 fte) and full-time positions are available.

Educational tasks (tutorial groups, some co-ordination, BSc thesis supervision, grading, etc.) for the programmes offered by the two departments. These programs include the BSc and MSc Economics, the BSc and MSc Fiscal Economics and other MSc programs like Human Decision Sciences, Economics and Strategy of Emerging Markets, and Financial Economics.

Requirements
  • Master degree in (International) Economic Studies/Economics/Quantitative Economics or equivalent, with sufficiently high grades;
  • Affinity with the Maastricht University educational system (PBL);
  • High-level proficiency in the English language (as all teaching is in English).

Conditions of employment

This concerns a temporary contract of 0.5-1.0 FTE for 2 years.

Salary is dependent on education and experience. The maximum gross monthly salary is € 4,670 in accordance with scale 10 CLA NU (with full-time appointment).
An 8% holiday and an 8.3% year-end allowance is also provided.

In addition to good primary employment conditions, UM also offers an attractive package of secondary employment conditions.
