Can you think and act proactively? And would you like to work at an institute where we study multiple disciplines of behavioural science under one roof? Behavioural Science Institute (BSI) is looking for a Lab Coordinator to coordinate our lab facilities and contribute to the institute's day-to-day management. You will be part of a well-coordinated team supporting BSI research.
As Lab Coordinator you will be responsible for the organisation and maintenance of our diverse lab facilities and their documentation. You will support our researchers by providing advice, instruction, training and assistance. You will monitor an efficient workflow and implement practical rules of conduct. In addition, you will contribute to BSI's day-to-day management by acting as Chair of our BSI Lab Committee, representing BSI management on lab-related projects and assisting our data officer on data management issues.
You will collaborate enthusiastically with your colleagues at BSI and in the technical support group. You will facilitate collaboration between our researchers and with other research institutes and organisational units at Radboud University. You will be part of a well-coordinated research support team at BSI.


Profile
  • You preferably have a background in behavioural sciences and have gained experience in a relevant lab setting.
  • You feel at home in an environment where scientific research is central and have affinity with behavioural research.
  • You show commitment and think and act proactively.
  • You have a hands-on mentality following from a service- and solution-oriented approach.
  • You have a positive, open attitude and are able to be self-critical.
  • Good communication skills and a good command of the English language are important.

Behavioural Science Institute (BSI) is a multidisciplinary research institute and one of three research institutes in the Faculty of Social Sciences at Radboud University.
Our researchers collaborate across the boundaries of psychology, educational science, and communication science. Our mission is to strengthen people through understanding the foundations of human behavior, by creating synergy between different paradigms and by facilitating craftsmanship, curiosity and connection in academic research. 
BSI has seven research programmes covering three major research themes, namely human development, connection and health. BSI conducts fundamental as well as applied/translational research and has excellent facilities and support for lab and field research. Moreover, the BSI is known for its successful graduate school and strong commitment to open science.

We offer
  • It concerns an employment for 0.6 - 0.8 FTE.
  • The gross monthly salary amounts to a minimum of €3,098 and a maximum of €4,257 based on a 38-hour working week, depending on previous education and number of years of relevant work experience (salary scale 9 ).
  • You will receive 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
  • It concerns a temporary employment for 1 year, with the prospect of a permanent position after positive evaluation.
  • You will be able to use our Dual Career and Family Care Services . Our Dual Career and Family Care Officer can assist you with family-related support, help your partner or spouse prepare for the local labour market, provide customized support in their search for employment and help your family settle in Nijmegen.
  • Working for us means getting extra days off. In case of full-time employment, you can choose between 30 or 41 days of annual leave instead of the legally allotted 20.
