Job description
Are you passionate about teaching economics, business economics and/or finance to undergraduate students? Do you have a Master's degree in one of these fields or a related discipline? Do you want to join a diverse team of junior lecturers at Utrecht University School of Economics (U.S.E.)? Please apply at Utrecht University School of Economics.
As part of the Undergraduate School's teaching staff, you will teach courses in our Bachelor’s programme Economics & Business Economics. You will spend 90% of your time on teaching tasks, and 10% on research and educational development.
As a junior lecturer you will:
  • Teach tutorials and become the tutor of a group of freshmen students;
  • Contribute to a wide range of courses in economics, business economics and/or finance, depending on your interests and background;
  • Participate in all other activities related to teaching in the Bachelor's programme.

Qualifications
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated junior lecturer who has:
  • A Master’s degree in economics, business economics, finance, or a related discipline;
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English;
  • Affinity with the full spectrum of courses taught in U.S.E.’s Bachelor's programme;
  • Potential to become an excellent teacher in the field of economics, business economics and/or finance.

Offer
We offer a temporary position (0.8 - 1.0 FTE) for four years in an international working environment. The gross salary - depending on previous qualifications and experience - ranges between €2,960 and €4,670 (scale 10 according to the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) per month for a full-time employment. Salaries are supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3% per year.
