Job description
As an intern you will: 
  • participate in patient care;
  • give imagining lessons to students;
  • contribute to research within the Clinical Sciences Department. 
You will be part of the Diagnostic Imaging Division of the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The department consists of veterinarians (including 5 European Certified Veterinary Imaging Specialists ECVDI, 2 board-eligible Imaging specialists ECVDI, 4 residents ECVDI, 1 intern) and a group of 12 lab assistants and animal care staff as well as administrative support. This dynamic division provides diagnostic imaging for the Companion Animals and Equine Teaching Hospital of Utrecht University. We are specifically looking for a new colleague for equine Diagnostic Imaging.
Once you have been familiarized with the department, you will also work in the on call shifts of the Diagnostic Imaging Division.

Requirements

We are seeking an ambitious new colleague who seeks an academic career. You are a motivated team player with good communication skills. You will be involved in the diagnostic imaging of referred clinical cases and provide a high quality service to clients and referring veterinarians. Since we are an academic veterinary centre, you will additionally be involved in the training of residents and veterinary students. Off-clinics time and enrolment in research can be discussed as part of this academic job.


Conditions of employment

We offer a temporary position of one year for this dynamic position. In case of successful performance, an extension is possible. The salary - depending on knowledge level, education and experience - varies between a minimum of €2,960 and a maximum of €4,670 (scale 10 of the collective labour agreement of Dutch universities) gross per month for full-time employment. You will also receive 8% holiday allowance and a year-end bonus of 8.3%.

The Division of Diagnostic Imaging of the Department of Clinical Sciences undertakes over 9,000 imaging diagnostic examinations (conventional X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, scintigraphy/SPECT) in companion animals and horses per year.
