At QuTech, we are actively looking for an experimental scientist to help our efforts towards building protected qubits. The candidate’s research program is expected to contribute to the general aim of the Qubit Research Division (QuRe) within QuTech. In the Qubit Research Division we work on developing novel qubits that are protected from noise by design. The mission is to understand, develop and demonstrate protected qubits that outperform established technology.
Applications for a tenured associate or full professorship will be considered for exceptionally well qualified candidates.
Candidates interested in teaching can participate the development of courses offered by the university both at the undergraduate and at the graduate level. This can happen in collaboration with the department of Quantum Nanoscience (QN) in the faculty of Applied Sciences.
The department of Quantum Nanoscience studies quantum phenomena in a wide variety of nanometer scale devices and materials, exploring new physics and novel applications of quantum effects. Areas include Quantum Matter, Quantum Sensing and Quantum Transduction.
QuTech together with the Departments of Bionanoscience and Quantum Nanoscience constitute the Kavli Institute of Nanoscience at Delft (KIND) established by the US-based Kavli foundation. The successful candidate will be part of this vibrant research community and can expect a competitive start-up package to enable a quick start of their research program.
