Job description
Are you interested in innovating laboratory classes? Would you like to give pedagogical advice to teachers and to work in a heterogeneous team of academic and technical experts? Then read on and apply for this job opportunity.
What will you do?
As an educational advisor you will advise and inspire university lecturers in improving and innovating the pedagogical aspects of their laboratory classes. In close cooperation with the lecturers, you develop or facilitate the development of high-quality teaching material that activates and engages students in their learning process. You combine currently used tooling with new online educational tools in the university teaching formats and offer practical support in using the software LabBuddy.
The team Online Learning Environment is one of the seven self-organized teams in our Teaching and Learning Centre. The team is responsible for support in the design, development and maintenance of the courses for students in our master and bachelor programs. This is done in close collaboration with the lecturers of Wageningen University & Research, who are responsible for the content of those courses. The Brightspace platform is used to build and offer the courses in which educational tools, such as H5P and LabBuddy among others, are used. Besides, the team makes use of MS Teams and Jira for daily tasks, communications and reporting.
The team Online Learning Environment consists of nine people. Five educational advisors, three functional administrators and you as a new colleague in the role of educational advisor with a focus on laboratory classes.
You will work as a team member in a self-organized team inspired by Agile principles. This requires a proactive attitude of you in organizing your own work. The organisation of the team is supported by a product owner and a flowmaster.
A standard day starts with a stand-up meeting with your team. During the day you might either be in close contact with lecturers giving advice or have a day in which you develop teaching materials in LabBuddy.
For the moment, the University aims at a hybrid way of working, so you will work with your colleagues both online as on Campus.
