Coordinator lab animal department

Approximately 10 employees work in the animal facility, including animal caretakers and biotechnicians. Animal welfare is paramount and together the team take care of the animals, the department and the contacts with researchers and technicians of the research groups. From an organizational point of view, the coordinator is supervised by the head of the department. The coordinator is responsible for the smooth running of the daily activities. We are looking for someone who can coordinate complex activities, has knowledge of breeding and genetics and who wants to form the bridge with other departments to jointly ensure that the research can be carried out in a technically advanced and reliable environment.

Activities

• Coordination of the animal facilities and surgery rooms.
• Breeding management and cryopreservation.
• Making working-, weekend and holiday schedules in consultation with the animal caretakers.
• Hazard identification and control in the animal department.
• Contribute to good procedures, the development of the "culture of care" environment and the 3

R's in consultation with researchers, technicians, animal caretakers and the Animal Welfare Body.

• Contribute to the development of institutional animal care policies to comply with regulations,

policies and nationally accepted standards.

• Quality management, review and updating procedures (SOP).
• Management of the laboratory animal registration system and preparation of reports.
