The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is looking for a Content creator.

Job description
As a Content Creator, you mainly focus on creating, editing and updating content for our bachelor’s and master’s programmes and research output, both in the areas of arts and social sciences. You will closely work together with the Research Support Office, colleagues at other faculties and the central level MarCom office. In our team, your main sparring partners are the student recruitment adviser, the website editor/social media manager and the external communications adviser.

The main tasks of this position are:

  • Content planning and strategy, setting objectives and developing a content calendar;
  • Content creation by writing and editing brochures, newsletters, flyers, blog posts and other written material for educational and research related content;
  • Creating visual content by designing images, infographics and (short) videos;
  • Producing reels, videos, podcasts and other multimedia content to enhance engagement with our various target groups together with internal or external partners;
  • Co-development of the faculty’s research communications plan;
  • Develop ways of communicating FASoS’ research in an accessible manner to an array of target groups;
  • Participating actively as a member of UM-wide tactical editorial meeting.

  • You have an academic or HBO education level with an educational background in marketing and/or communication, journalism or multimedia design;
  • You have a minimum of 1-year relevant work experience.

  • Creative, ability to generate innovative ideas and concepts for engaging content;
  • Strong visual and storytelling skills to captivate the audience;
  • Team player, enthusiastic and energetic;
  • Proficient in writing clear, concise, and compelling copy;
  • Excellent grammar and editing skills, in both English and Dutch;
  • Ability to adapt writing style to different audiences and platforms;
  • Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) like WordPress;
  • Proficiency in using design software (e.g., Adobe package) for creating visual content;
  • Basic video editing skills and familiarity with video production tools.

What we offer
As a Content creatorat the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:
  • Good employment conditions. The position is graded in scale 8 according to UFO profile Editor, with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from € 3,072 and € 4,103 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
  • An employment contract for a period of 12 months with a scope of 0.8-1.0 FTE. With shown suitability after 1 year, this contract will be changed to a permanent contract. In case of good performance and equal prospects for the faculty, extension of the appointment can be offered.
  • At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences FASoS is a close-knit community of approximately 250 staff members and 2100 students. During breaks and before meetings, you can often find us at our favourite local coffee spot Bandito Espresso.

Communication lines within our faculty are short and colleagues are always ready to assist each other. FASoS consists of a highly international student population and a significant part of our staff comes from abroad.
