Do you love running events and initiatives that bring people with a shared interest together? Are you an enthusiastic communicator who’s keen to take responsibility for a wide range of content? Does the role of innovation in education — and specifically the possibilities of extended reality (XR) for learning and research — excite you?

If your answer is “yes!”, please apply to be a Community & Events at Leiden Learning & Innovation Centre (LLInC): one of Leiden University’s most forward-thinking and creative teams.

Leiden Learning & Innovation Centre is looking for the following for the Data & Media team:

Community & Events Manager (0.6 FTE)

Activities
As part of a small communications team, you’ll focus on developing the international XR ERA community. XR ERA is an initiative that brings people from education, research, and industry together to share XR knowledge. Your tasks will include:

  • Preparing and publishing content for a range of publications and channels (e.g., websites, social media, and our newsletter);
  • Generating ideas for new types of content and ways to engage the community.
  • Being the first point of contact for the XR ERA community;
  • Contributing to LLInC communications and events, on an as-needed basis.

Your profile
We are looking for a fluent English speaker, writer, and editor (Dutch language skills are a bonus).

Our ideal candidate will also be:

  • Familiar with tools such as WordPress, Canva and Mailchimp;
  • Able to develop content for different formats (e.g., articles, blog posts, social media posts, newsletters);
  • Comfortable planning and running events, online and in-person;
  • Excited to take part in the ideation process: brainstorming ideas and topics with colleagues to dive into and write about;
  • Equally at home working independently as in a team.
