Offer Description
The Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) is hiring a doctoral candidate on the topic of "Co-creating Circular Value".
Co-creation emerges as a powerful tool in inspiring innovation and driving the adoption and scale-up of the Circular Economy. By involving stakeholders in the creative process, co-creation can unlock new directions for innovation that address societal challenges on a larger scale. However, despite our intuitive understanding of design’s contribution to large-scale societal challenges, finding ways to measure and make this value visible has been a challenge. Your research seeks to substantiate the benefits of co-creation in transition towards a circular economy, and to shed light on its role as a catalyst for positive change. You will address questions such as:
- When and how during the development of circular propositions should co-creation be applied?
- Which stakeholders should be involved in co-creating circular propositions and what qualities should they bring to the process to enhance co-creation's impact?
- How can the long-term governance of co-creation processes contribute to successful outcomes?
During your PhD, you will work closely with industry partners, policymakers, end-users, and other stakeholders to conduct a critical analysis of existing research and industry practices concerning co-creation, assess their impacts, develop and validate co-creation models and frameworks, and propose innovative solutions to support the transition towards more sustainable product-service systems and circular economy practices.
