Recently, the duodenum has emerged as a potential treatment target in patients with type 2 diabetes. In our group we investigate the efficacy on glycemic control and several metabolic parameters of duodenal ablation in humans via different techniques (electroporation and hydrothermal ablation).

The candidate will help to further our knowledge on what the mechanism of the observed effect of this technique is by analyzing pre and post single cell RNA sequencing data and (in collaboration with our other 4 bio-informaticians) perform multi-omics analyses including machine learning gradient boosting / randomized tree approaches.

  • University degree;
  • Finished a PhD;
  • Hands-on experience with bioinformatic analyses (single cell RNA sequencing data handling in R and / or Python with e.g., Seurat or scanpy);
  • Experience with multiomics machine learning approaches (gradient boosting/randomized trees);
  • Good communication skills.

Benefits
  • One-year contract with the possibility of renewal.
  • Salary scale 11: € 4.498tot € 6.156 when working fulltime (depending on education and experience).
