Offer Description

In the area of research you will

  • either fit the profile applied researcher and contribute to the group’s existing research lines and/or establish your own research line that complements our research activities OR you fit the profile methods and statistics expert and contribute to our research activities with excellent methodological skills and statistical expertise combined with a lighter topic-related profile in the area of work and organizational psychology;
  • seek to obtain external research funding;
  • actively participate in our team science initiatives fostering knowledge exchange within our team.

In the area of teaching you will

  • be involved in the bachelor program Psychology and in the master programs of W&O Psychology, i.e. the 1-year master of W&O Psychology, and the 2-year International Joint Master of Research in W&O Psychology (in collaboration with University of Valencia and Leuphana University Luneburg);
  • function as a course coordinator, provide lectures, serve as tutor in our Problem Based Learning meetings, supervise bachelor and master theses;
  • Furthermore, you will contribute to the group’s management tasks (e.g. participation in ethical review board, educational program committee).

Requirements
Specific Requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who meets the following requirements:

  • PhD degree, preferably in Work and Organizational Psychology, or a PhD degree related to applied psychology with a methodological and statistical focus;
  • strong research profile as evidenced by rigorous research studies and first and co-authored publications in international peer-reviewed outlet;
  • for the profile applied researcher: potential to develop a research line that contributes to and/or complements the WOP group’s research programme combined with good methodological and statistical skills OR for the profile method and statistics expert: excellent methodological and statistical expertise combined with a lighter topic-related research profile and with the ability to translate, share, and utilize such expertise for research within the group;
  • teaching experience and strong teachings skills as evidenced e.g., by the Basic Teaching Qualification and/or teaching evaluations;
  • fluency in English at an academic level; willingness to learn Dutch.

Benefits

The vacancy concerns a full-time (0.8-1.0 FTE) structural position (tenured after a 1/1.5-year probationary period), with a teaching load of approx. 50 % and 50 % time for research.

Depending on experience and qualification, the maximum gross monthly salary is €5,439 based on a full-time employment and in accordance with scale 11 of the Collective Labour Agreement of the Dutch Universities. An 8% holiday and an 8.3% year-end allowance is also provided.

In addition to good primary employment conditions, UM also offers an attractive package of secondary employment conditions.
