Do you have expertise in the area of Developmental Psychopathology? Are you a passionate researcher and teacher? Can you inspire students and initiate relevant new research?

Development in childhood and adolescence is key to life-long well-being, (mental) health, and societal participation. We study how mental health problems and successful adaptation develop in childhood and adolescences, and how we can most effectively understand, prevent, and intervene with problematic development. To this end, we focus on addressing critical developmental mechanisms, such as family dynamics, social cognitive processes, peer interactions, and societal affordances. Our research prioritizes an integral approach to both understanding and (preventively) intervening effectively in problematic development.

  • You are active in the acquisition of research grants;
  • You supervise PhD students;
  • You seek (knowledge) exchange and (research) cooperation with professionals on your research area;
  • You make a positive contribution to the organization and cooperation within the program group and the department.

What do you have to offer?

You have:

  • a completed PhD in the social sciences on a relevant topic;
  • demonstrable experience in research on developmental psychopathology;
  • excellent research skills, as demonstrated by publications in international journals;
  • original ideas for new, relevant research on the theme developmental psychopathology;
  • experience with international research;
  • some experience in teaching science;
  • good communication, social and organizational skills.

In addition, you are an enthusiastic colleague who likes to share knowledge, embraces open science, is curious, critical and eager to learn, i.e. one with an academic attitude.
