TU Delft’s Faculty of EEMCS invites applications for tenure-track faculty in the area of Quantum Computer Science (QCS).

The Faculty includes two Computer Science (CS) departments (Intelligent Systems and Software Technology), working together in research and in education. The departments employ 85 faculty members as well as 10 teaching faculty, supporting the delivery of world class computer science education at substantial scale, and world-leading research in the major CS disciplines. Their research programs comprise a balanced mix of curiosity-driven foundational research, and use-inspired research in such application domains as health and well-being, creative industry, fintech, logistics, energy, and the tech sector itself.

TU Delft is home to QuTech — a leading institution for making advancements in quantum computing, qubit research, as well spearheading efforts in the development of a quantum internet. QuTech’s Quantum Internet Division is also the coordinator of the Quantum Internet Alliance (QIA), a collaboration of over 40 European partners from academia and industry with the objective of further developing all necessary components of a quantum internet.

The Quantum Computer Science section is embedded in the department of Software Technology (ST) at TU Delft, and has a mission to endow society with the full potential of quantum technologies. In view of this endeavour, QCS values research and education in all areas of quantum computing, quantum information, and quantum communication with a special focus on making quantum technologies a practical reality.

A successful candidate will join the ranks of exceptional quantum researchers, including leading physicists and engineers focused on quantum hardware and architecture development, thus enabling opportunities of conducting research on all levels of the stack.
