The David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is seeking an outstanding individual to serve as Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Currently ranked in the top 5 departments nationally, with a robust research portfolio and a longstanding T32 post-doctoral training grant, the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UCLA comprises a distinguished cadre of more than 80 faculty members across 11 divisions.

The candidate will fill a tenure track position to direct and advance the Department's bench-to-bedside research program and will work closely with DGSOM leadership including the DGSOM Dean, Vice Dean for Research, and CTSI leadership. Research activities are based in the 25,000 square foot J. Vernon Luck, Sr., M.D. Orthopaedic Research Center. Located at the internationally renowned, and top public university in the United States, the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is uniquely poised for transformational cross-disciplinary innovations and leading-edge research.

The successful candidate will have an established reputation as a scientist with strong research, administrative, organizational and team-building skills who is conversant in basic, translational and clinical aspects of musculoskeletal medicine. The ideal candidate will:
