Role Description
This full-time on-site role is located in Milan and is focused on molecular dynamics of Peptides/PNA-based Nanomaterials. The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for conducting computational simulations, analyzing data, and contributing to research publications. The Postdoctoral Researcher will also work closely with the research team to design and implement research projects included in the European Funded Synery project (www.synery.eu) and collaborate with other international research teams to share knowledge and expertise.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, or related field with expertise in molecular dynamics simulations, and experience in polymer or soft matter simulations.
- Demonstrated expertise in computational methods, especially molecular dynamics simulations (all/united-atom, coarse-grained), and experience with simulation packages such as GROMACS, LAMMPS, and CHARMM.
- Experience in force-field development and parameterization of peptides, proteins or peptide nucleic acids.
- Experience in statistical mechanics and multiscale modeling of soft matter systems
- Experience in scripting languages (Python) and coding for scientific simulations and data analysis.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, ability to work independently as well as in a team, demonstrated ability to lead projects, and to write scientific papers and grant applications.
- Experience in nanoscience, biochemistry, and nanomedicine is a plus.
The remuneration will be proportional to the experience and CV value.
Work start date: between April 2024 and June 2024.
