MS and Ph.D. opportunities are available in the newly funded NASA center for advance measurements in extreme environments at University of Texas, San Antonio. The student is expected to conduct original research in Aerospace Engineering, Geosciences, developing models, data fusion and data synthesis,writing high quality journal publications. This is a highly collaborative project and the candidate will be working with NASA researchers, faculty from UCLA (Los Angeles), UC Boulder. Research will focus on developing large scale computational fluid dynamic models in atmosphere/ocean/polar regions by integrating with sensors, observations to study extreme events in the atmosphere, ocean and environment. The graduate study will also involve internship opportunities at NASA centers/

This is an excellent opportunity for work on cross-cutting research areas of high-fidelity model development, remote sensing/sensors, data fusion, integration of models and observations. Knowledge of WRF, ROMS, GCM models is needed. The ideal candidate should be very motivated, with strong CV, and very promising to perform high quality research.
