Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) is a UK university campus based in Putrajaya, Malaysia. Building on the foundation that has been laid by the Malaysia campus, we are now seeking to recruit an academic with extensive experience of teaching and research in the areas of positive psychology/positive education. The successful candidate will be expected to head the formation of a new research institute in Positive Education across our global campuses and provide core leadership to the Psychology academic team at Malaysia campus. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop strong links to colleagues at the Scottish campuses to deliver high quality learning and teaching, to lead the development of high quality programmes for our students, and to develop strong applied research profile in association with the Academic Schools in the UK. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be responsible to establish a vibrant industry-linked programme portfolio for international industry partners.  

The postholder will be expected to have a broad knowledge of a range of topics within the sphere of their chosen discipline, and an established track record in research activities. The postholder will be required to have in-depth knowledge and experience in positive psychology and positive education.  

The role will be based at the University's campus in Putrajaya, the administrative capital of Malaysia. Programmes will be delivered in English and so fluency in English is essential. An induction programme will be delivered to all new academic staff in August 2020 on Heriot-Watt's standards and values, and to give practical experience on preparation, delivery and assessment of teaching.
