About the SnT…
The University of Luxembourg is seeking to hire a highly motivated and an outstanding engineer in the area of Embedded Systems, Real-Time Signal
Processing and Space & Satellite Communications for its Interdisciplinary Centre of Security and Trust (SnT), within the Signal Processing and
Communications (SigCom) research group, led by Prof. Björn Ottersten and Prof. Symeon Chatzinotas.

SnT carries out interdisciplinary research in secure, reliable and trustworthy ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) systems and services,
often in collaboration with governmental, industrial and international partners. SnT is active in several national projects funded by National Research
Fund (FNR) and local industries, and international research projects funded by the EU HE programme, H2020 programme and the European Space Agency (ESA).

The SigCom research group carries out research activities in the areas of signal processing for wireless communication systems including satellite
communications and is currently expanding its research activities in exploring several emerging use cases of next generation wireless communications

Your Role…
The successful candidates are expected to perform the following tasks:

* Contributing to research and development projects in the fields of:
* Space, deep space and Lunar/Mars proximity communications
* LTE, 5G/6G Non-Terrestrial Networks and Satellite-Terrestrial Integration
* Integrate the communication hardware and software components for end-to-end testing
* Test, analyze and benchmark the various components of the communication subsystem
* Implementing control, networking and signal processing algorithms for the 5G-SpaceLab and the Commlab
* Contributing to the dissemination of the research results
* Collaborate in ongoing ESA, European, and national projects
* Assisting in the organization of relevant workshops and demos

Your Profile…
Qualification: The candidate should possess a MSc degree in Electronics/Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering or an equivalent qualification, with a
proven record of accomplishment in the area of Embedded Systems for Signal Processing or Wireless Communications.

Experience: The ideal candidate should have knowledge and experience in the following topics:

* Proven experience with Software-Defined Radios
* Knowledge of hardware-software co-design and verification techniques using FPGA is a plus. Experience using Vivado SDK / Vitis is also a plus
* Knowledge of Openairinterface or srsRAN is desirable
* Strong programming skills in MATLAB, C/C++ and/or HDL (VHDL, Verilog, HLS, etc.). Other languages such as Python or JULIA are a plus
* Knowledge of Communications and Networking standards (3GPP, IEEE 802.11, DVB) would be a benefit
* Experience of working with industrial projects or public funded research projects is highly desirable
* International experience is desirable
* Highly committed, excellent team-worker, and strong critical thinking skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
