ICFO is offering a postdoctoral position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.
The successful candidate will be joining the Optical Parametric Oscillators group led by Prof. Dr. Majid Ebrahim-Zadeh.
The successful candidate will be involved in theoretical design and modeling, as well as experimental implementation and development, study, and optimisation of ultrafast picosecond optical parametric sources operating from ~600 nm in the visible to ~8000 nm in the mid-IR. Two distinct systems based on single-pass optical parametric generation/amplification (OPG)/OPA) and phase-locked optical parametric oscillators (OPOs) will be theoretically studied, and experimentally implemented and investigated. Both systems will use the latest generation of high-power mode-locked picosecond Yb-fiber laser technology as the input pump source. The potential application of the developed sources in broadband spectroscopy and imaging will also be investigated.
