Doctoral Researcher in Social Sciences: Sociology of stratification and inequalities

The Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) brings together expertise from the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social and educational sciences. The University of Luxembourg (UL) invites applications for a position of doctoral candidate at the Institute for Research on Socio-Economic Inequality.

Framework:

The doctoral candidate will undertake research closely linked to the objectives of the Institute IRSEI and will work under the supervision of Professor Louis Chauvel.

• Develop your PhD thesis
• Analyse comparative surveys in relation to inequality, mobility in relation with education
• Prepare and teach allotted course components (practicals, tutorials and pre-structured lectures), contribute to student assessment activities, including writing and reviewing assignments and questions for course components, supervise bachelor students in the context of their work when working on course components

• Master in Social Sciences or related field
• Methodological skills and statistical training
• Fluency in English and French speaking skills
• Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team
