The University of Luxembourg is a research-intensive university with an international reputation and is currently ranked 25th among universities younger than 50 years by Times Higher Education. The University strives for excellence in both fundamental and applied research, as well as in education, and is a key driver of innovation for society. The University has established Interdisciplinary Research Centres to spearhead activities in priority areas, and to ensure Luxembourg is capable of solving societal challenges while being internationally competitive.
Established in 2009, the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) conducts world-leading research and innovations in information and communication technology, ICT, creating socio-economic impact. The SnT priority areas are aligned with objectives in the government’s Digital Luxembourg strategy; specifically, the diversification of the economy, aligning research with key areas of economic activity, strengthening Public–Private Partnerships (PPP), and increasing Luxembourg’s international focus. The SnT has grown rapidly and now comprises over 450 staff members across 16 research groups and is ranked in the Top 10 institutions for software engineering and the Top 100 institutions globally for computer science.
The University of Luxembourg is now seeking to appoint a new Director to lead the SnT. Reporting to the Rector, the successful candidate will combine a strong research record in ICT, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead a highly international, interdisciplinary, and multi-stakeholder institution. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate visionary thinking together with proven leadership and management experience from a relevant context, together with evidence of delivering excellence in research, partnerships, and teaching.
