Applications are invited for appointment as Research Officer (RO)/Assistant Research Officer (ARO)/Senior Research Assistant (SRA) in the Department of Anaesthesiology (Ref.: 509194), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis or a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related discipline, preferably with at least 5 years’ research experience. They should be competent in quantitative analysis, be well equipped to acquire new statistical techniques through self-learning, and have good communication skills. Publication record will be evaluated.  Applicants should also be responsible, mature, attentive to details, and able to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Experience in performing meta-analyses and epidemiological data analysis of large datasets is preferred. The appointee is expected to lead research projects, and write research grants and manuscripts. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Research Officer/Senior Research Assistant. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment on fixed term will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary for RO and 10% of basic salary for ARO/SRA. For RO, housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
