Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor/Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department ofChemistry (Ref.: 516329), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, Computer Science or other relevant disciplines with an excellent publication track record.  Experience in conducting and managing scientific research as well as proven expertise in research field relevant to the platform project mentioned below are required.  They should have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese, the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and external parties including academics and the industrial society.  Those with lesser experience may be considered for the appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow. 

The appointees will participate in a 3-year large-scale multidisciplinary research project supported by the Innovation and Technology Commission, which aims to transfer the success of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) in microelectronics to the energy industries, including the optoelectronic, electrochemical and chemical industries.  They will also help develop a big data/machine learning/scientific computing platform for the discovery of next generation energy materials and design novel devices on computers or in silico.  Working off-campus may be required.
