Project Engineer – Steam Methane Reforming Pilot Plant

With ZoneFlow Reactor Technologies (ZFRT), LLC, UCLouvain has built a world class pilot plant for conducting a full-fledged test program for demonstrating an innovative structured catalyst system for Steam Methane Reforming. The plant site is within the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium under the auspices of a collaborative development.

The pilot plant installation was nearly ( ~ 90%) completed before covid related limitations stalled it. With situation now improved, we plan to swiftly revive the pilot plant, completing remaining construction activities followed by prompt commissioning , start-up, and operation covering several test campaigns

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Full familiarization with all the plant details, complete documentation (as available and also that to be finalized), project status, 3rd parties involved, and outstanding works
  • Coordination and interactions with concerned suppliers and contractors for their effective re-engagement
  • Detailed planning and scheduling of the remaining works and activities
  • Purchase order coordination for remaining items, assisted by the team
  • Owner-based supervision and coordination of the various works executed by 3rd parties for quality, time, and budget
  • Change order coordination under management approvals
  • Cost control, schedule adherence and regular progress reporting for timely completion
  • Ensure full project requirements in terms of documentation, safety approvals, vendor certifications, and notifying body clearances
  • Efficient and adequate communication with 3rd parties as well as internally with the team
  • Make suggestions for actions and/or solutions for team’s approval for averting delays or cost over-runs while also avoiding conflict of interests
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date project documentation and encrypted e-filing for efficient access and retrieval by the concerned
  • Tasks may require extended work timing and flexibility including working in shifts
  • Upon completion of the pilot plant installation and all the formalities for getting it “ready to operate”, be one of the ZFRT/UCL operating team members for its commissioning, start-up and test program spanning over 6-8 months.
  • Following satisfactory performance and successful completion of pilot plant test program, and subject to mutual interest and functional requirements, prospective continuation as part of the ZFRT team and stationed in USA (Connecticut).
