The lab of Professor Sergio D. Catz at the Department of Molecular Medicine, Scripps Research in La Jolla, California is seeking a dynamic, independent, and creative postdoctoral researcher to join his team. Under this NIH-funded postdoctoral research position you will work on the development of novel cell biology and immunology research to integrate high-resolution and cellular functional approaches together with high-throughput screening approaches to study molecular mechanisms regulating lysosomal disease, innate immunity, inflammation and infection. We are looking for highly motivated scientists to contribute to our research projects designed to study the crosstalk between vesicular trafficking, cellular function, and protein homeostasis in the context of inflammation, infection, and cardiovascular disease. The successful candidate will use a combination of molecular, cellular, genetic, and drug-discovery approaches and will be trained in state-of-the-art super-resolution microscopy techniques. Investigators will use genetically modified mouse models of disease and human immune cells that can be exploited for development of novel therapies.
