Georgia Cancer Center (GCC) at Augusta University is seeking applications for faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at both tenured and tenure track levels.

The Georgia Cancer Center is part of the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, located in Augusta, a picturesque riverside city situated along the Georgia/South Carolina border. The GCC is a part of the Medical College of Georgia (MCG), which was founded in 1828. We are on a mission to ensure every cancer patient has access to the newest and most innovative clinical trials in the nation. Our world-class physicians work closely with Scientists to ensure every cancer patient receives personalized treatment through the interaction of a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and allied health professionals. GCC is the national leader in outreach and engagement of underserved populations.

The cancer center supports a vibrant research environment by providing investigators with easy access to cutting-edge technologies as shared resources. The cancer center provides a collaborative environment that supports basic science that is making breakthroughs in cancer research, leading to the identification of new therapies. The selected candidate will have laboratory space in the state-of-the-art Georgia Cancer Center M. Bert Storey Research Building which is designed to provide research space to promote multidisciplinary collaborations and translational research.

The successful candidate will have expertise in basic, or translational, cancer research that will complement the existing strength in areas of:

Tumor Biology
Genetics
Immunology

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or MD or equivalent and have proven success and are expected to maintain a vigorous externally funded research program. Individuals with a track record of leading a productive laboratory with a collaborative spirit, innovative thinking, and strong communication skills are encouraged to apply. A track record of commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is highly desired. The candidate will be expected to be actively engaged in scholarship, education, and service to the University. A history of leading highly collaborative projects with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills is highly desired.
