The Institute for Solid State Physics (ISSP) was established in 1957 as a national joint research institute at the University of Tokyo to promote condensed matter physics and materials science research in Japan. In 2010, ISSP was granted a license to operate as a joint research center and act as a center of excellence in condensed matter physics and materials science. Since its inception, Research, Human Capability Development, and Joint Usage are the core axes of our activities.

[Work content and job description]
The Institute for Solid State Physics is seeking applications from young researchers to work with Prof. Lippmaa
on the synthesis of oxide thin films by pulsed laser deposition, developing new materials, and characterizing thin films, heterostructures, and surfaces. In particular, researchers interested in new physical properties of epitaxial oxide crystals, carrier dynamics in photocatalysts, low-dimensional structures, metastable materials
synthesis, autonomous synthesis based on machine learning analysis of electron diffraction data, and are willing to engage in collaborative research are desirable.
The scope of change is as follows: Displacement, concurrent service, and secondment may be ordered.
However, in principle, such orders may not be issued against one's will. Details are in accordance with Article 4 of the Regulations on the Employment of University of Tokyo Faculty Members.
