The Institute for Solid State Physics (ISSP) was established in 1957 as a national joint research institute at the University of Tokyo to promote condensed matter physics and materials science research in Japan. In 2010, ISSP was granted a license to operate as a joint research center and act as a center of excellence in condensed matter physics and materials science. Since its inception, Research, Human Capability Development, and Joint Usage are the core axes of our activities.

[Work content and job description]
The successful candidate will work with Prof. Kato as a staff member of Kato Laboratory to promote theoretical research on various quantum transport phenomena in solids such as mesoscopic systems, spintronic devices, and topological materials and will be involved in education and supervision for graduate students as well as international collaboration.

Annual salary:4 million yen - 6 million yen
