The Institute for Solid State Physics (ISSP) was established in 1957 as a national joint research institute at the University of Tokyo to promote condensed matter physics and materials science research in Japan. In 2010, ISSP was granted a license to operate as a joint research center and act as a center of excellence in condensed matter physics and materials science. Since its inception, Research, Human Capability Development, and Joint Usage are the core axes of our activities.

[Work content and job description]
ISSP is seeking researchers who are eager to establish their own research field using neutron, and will take the
lead in joint collaboration research in the field of chemical physics and material science. The researchers will
be responsible for Angle Focusing Cold Neutron Spectrometer (AGNES) and in charge of the general user
program in Japan and US-Japan cooperative program for neutron scattering. The researchers should have
experience in both steady and pulsed neutron experiments to promote the supplementary use between JRR-3
and J-PARC and future plans for the Japanese neuron community.
The scope of change is as follows: Displacement, concurrent service, and secondment may be ordered.
However, in principle, such orders may not be issued against one's will. Details are in accordance with Article
4 of the Regulations on the Employment of University of Tokyo Faculty Members.

・The successful candidate will be determined following the ISSP faculty meeting’s deliberations. The position will remain vacant if no suitable candidates are identified.
