【Research areas】
For further promotion of the social-system transformation caused by rapid progress of AI technologies as a result of dramatic increase of computing power and traffic data, it is indispensable to create information devices and systems with high speed, high functionality and low power consumption towards the realization of carbon-neutral society.
Aiming to realize the next-generation computing systems with an ability far beyond conventional computers, the Nanophotoelectronics Laboratory conducts the research and education related to (1) the innovation of new devices and systems for faster information processing by combining the photonics and electronics, (2) the exploration of optical properties and materials for the devices and systems, or (3) the development of technologies for evaluating materials and devices, e.g. using synchrotron radiation or laser.
