Course of Agricultural and Biological Chemistry, Degree program in Earth, Environmental and Life Science, Graduate School of Environmental, Life, Natural Science and Technology.
The Division of Bioactive Chemistry is engaged in the discovery, isolation, and structural elucidation of bioactive compounds derived from nature, and conducts educational and research activities in collaboration with the endowed course "Microbial Industry".
We are looking for candidates with the knowledge and experience in agricultural chemistry.

The endowed course "Microbial Industry" was established in 2022 through corporate donations. This endowed course promotes educational and research initiatives focused on topics that contribute to industrialization overviewing fermentation technology using microorganisms.

【Description of Job】
(1) Research and education: In addition to research in the fields of natural product chemistry and bioorganic chemistry, and furthermore, research and education in collaboration with relevant staffs to further develop microbial manufacturing in the endowed course "Microbial Industry" by analyzing fermentation and brewing processes at the compound level from the perspectives of natural product chemistry and bioorganic chemistry.
(2) Education: Experimental practices such as "Laboratory Agrochemical Bioscience 1, 2, 3 (shared)", "Laboratory Chemical Analysis (shared)", and other experimental practice, and guidance assistance on graduation thesis research, and guidance assistance on master's and doctoral students at the graduate school.

Annual salary:4 million yen - 7 million yen
Wages description:Basic annual salary and Performance-based annual salary : Assistant Professor 4,702,000-6.708,000yen
An annual salary system is applied.
The amount of annual salary is determined in consideration of the person’s educational background, work experience, etc. according to the Okayama University annual salary Regulations.
The percentage of annual performance pay depends on the length of service within six months prior to the base date (June 1 and December 1) , and the performance rate varies depending on the results of the evaluation.
As allowances, commuting allowance, support allowance, housing allowance, adjustment allowance, etc. will be paid separately to the applicable employees.
